Dr. Zheni Panayotova

Education

Dr. Zheni Panayotova, MD, is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology and a specialist in prenatal diagnosis and therapy in Sofia, with over 17 years of medical experience. She performs the following examinations:

  • Combined screening for chromosomal abnormalities in the first trimester of pregnancy
  • Early fetal morphology between 16–18 gestational weeks
  • Fetal morphology at 20–22 gestational weeks
  • Late fetal morphology at 28–30 gestational weeks
  • Fetal biometry and Doppler assessment
  • Placental pathology evaluation
  • Monitoring of high-risk pregnancies

Dr. Panayotova does not examine children.

Dr. Panayotova graduated in Medicine in 2007 from the Medical University of Sofia. She began her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2008 at the Second SAGBAL Sheynovo. In 2014, she continued her specialization at SBALAG Maichin Dom and obtained her specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In May 2023, she defended her dissertation on the topic “Modern ultrasound methods for diagnosis and management of placenta previa and placenta accreta” and obtained the educational and scientific degree “Doctor” from the Medical University of Varna.

Qualifications

In 2011, she went to London for a specialization at the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF), where she trained under Prof. Kypros Nicolaides, a leading global expert in Fetal Medicine. Three years later, she earned a Diploma in Fetal Medicine.

Biography

Currently, Dr. Panayotova is part of the specialist teams at FemiClinic Medical Center, DCC and MHAT Vita, and the Diagnostic Center “Heart.” She is fluent in English.
