Dr. Yanko Pаhnev, MD
Dr. Yanko Pahnev is a specialist pediatric surgeon and thoracic surgeon in Sofia with over 16 years of medical experience. My scientific interests are in the field of pediatric surgery – abdominal, thoracic surgery, minimally invasive surgery and bronchology. He graduated in video-assisted thoracic and laparoscopic surgery.
Education
He graduated from the Medical University of Plovdiv in 2005. He acquired his specialties in Pediatric Surgery and Thoracic Surgery in 2015 and 2022 after specialization in the Clinic of Pediatric Surgery at the N. I. Pirogov University Hospital. In 2018 he acquired the educational and scientific degree “Doctor”. Certificates “Bronchology” (1st and 2nd level), abdominal ultrasound – first level.
Qualifications
Member of the Bulgarian Medical Union, Bulgarian Surgical Society, Society of Pediatric Surgery and Bulgarian Association of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgery, Society of Pediatric Oncohematology, Bulgarian Society of Pulmonary Diseases, SIOPE; Certified under the Interact 100 Europe program.
Participation in numerous national and international congresses, courses and seminars in his specialty.
Biography
From 2006 to 2008, Dr. Pahnev worked in the Emergency Department. In 2008, he started working at the Clinic of Pediatric Surgery at the N. I. Pirogov University Hospital. Currently, he is a part-time chief assistant at the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the N. I. Pirogov University Hospital. He is currently part of a team of specialists at the Diagnostic centre ‘Heart’.
