Dr. Sofia Georgieva

Dr. Sofia Georgieva is a cardiology specialist based in Sofia with over 15 years of experience and professional interests in the field of echocardiography. She performs diagnostics and treatment of a wide range of conditions in internal medicine and cardiology, including emergency cases. She also conducts and interprets functional tests such as ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, Holter ECG, stress tests (ergometry), and echocardiography, as well as therapy and follow-up in the mentioned areas. Dr. Georgieva does not examine children.

Education

She graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2003. She obtained her specialties in Internal Medicine in 2008 and Cardiology in 2017.

Biography

Between 2003 and 2005, Dr. Georgieva worked as a secondary physician in a GP practice at DCC 28 Sofia. Since 2005, she has been a resident physician in the Cardiology Clinic of the First City Hospital Sofia, and from 2006 to 2010 – at University Hospital Lozenets Sofia. From 2009 to 2010, she was an assistant in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” She also practiced at DCC Transhelix. Since 2010, she has been a cardiologist at the National Cardiology Hospital Sofia, gradually working in the Department of Non-Invasive Diagnostics and the Emergency Cardiology Department. Currently, Dr. Georgieva is also part of the specialist teams at MC St. Panteleimon, MC AmeriMed, and the Diagnostic Center “Heart.” She is fluent in Russian and English.
