Dr. Donka Uzunova
Dr. Donka Uzunova is a specialist pediatrician and neonatologist in Sofia with over 20 years of medical experience. She conducts clinical examinations and consultations related to the follow-up of premature and high-risk newborns – discharged and after hospital treatment. She performs consultations and clinical examinations related to nutrition, development and prevention in children (mainly) up to one year of age. In outpatient settings, she also performs minor manipulations – umbilical wound treatment, blood sampling, insertion of a catheter, vaccinations, etc. Dr. Uzunova also conducts prenatal consultations for high-risk pregnant women regarding fetal development, problems and risks related to premature birth and planning of specialized neonatological care before, during and after birth. Dr. Uzunova conducts transfontanel ultrasound and ultrasound of abdominal organs with the highest class ultrasound equipment.
Education
She graduated from the Medical University of Pleven in 2002. She has a specialty in Internal Medicine, and her specialties in Neonatology and Pediatrics were acquired in 2013 and 2022.

Biography
From 2002 to 2008, Dr. Uzunova was a general practitioner. She practiced as a neonatologist at the Chernomorska Burgas Hospital and Hadji Dimitar Sliven Hospital. Since 2013, she has been the Head of the Neonatology Department at the Second SAGBAL Sheinovo, Sofia. She is a member of the European Society of Pediatrics and Neonatology, the Bulgarian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Bulgarian Pediatric Association and the Control Council of the Bulgarian Society of Neonatology. She is currently also part of the specialist teams of the Markovs Sofia Medical Center and Diagnostic Center ‘Heart’. She speaks English, French and Russian.
