Assoc. Prof. Rumen Marinov, MD
Assoc. Prof. Rumen Marinov is a pediatric cardiologist based in Sofia with over 20 years of experience. He performs cardiology examinations for children from 0 to 18 years of age, including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, Holter ECG, pediatric echocardiography, Holter blood pressure monitoring (24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring), and more. Assoc. Prof. Marinov performs fetal echocardiography exclusively at Diagnostic Center “Heart” and Nadezhda University Hospital. In other medical facilities, he does not perform fetal echocardiography for pregnant patients.
Education
He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Trakia University, Stara Zagora, in 1995. He acquired his specialties in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology in 2000 and 2004, respectively. In 2018, he obtained a PhD degree with a dissertation on the topic: “Application of new non-invasive methods for the assessment of myocardial deformation in patients during the late evolution of Kawasaki disease.”

Biography
After graduating in 1995, Assoc. Prof. Marinov worked for 2 years as a resident in the Cardiology Department of Gabrovo General Hospital. He then held positions as resident, assistant professor, senior assistant professor, and consultant in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical Faculty of Trakia University in Stara Zagora. Since 2005, he has been a senior assistant professor at the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic of the National Cardiology Hospital in Sofia. He is also part of the team of specialists at the Cardiovascular Disease Medical Center “Saint Ekaterina” in Sofia and at the Diagnostic Center “Heart.”
