Dr. Denitsa Kofinova, MD
Dr. Denitsa Kofinova, MD, is a pediatrician and pediatric gastroenterologist based in Sofia with over 11 years of medical experience. Her interests are in the field of chronic liver diseases, monitoring of liver transplant patients, chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, and nutrition.
Education
She graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2014. She holds specialties in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology. In 2020, she obtained a PhD degree after defending a dissertation on 2D Shear Wave Elastography titled: “Assessment of fibrosis in children with chronic liver diseases.”

- Total of 22 publications: 16 in peer-reviewed and indexed journals, 1 in a journal with an Impact Factor, contribution to a pediatrics textbook

Biography
In 2015, Dr. Kofinova began working at the Clinic of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the SBALDB Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev in Sofia. Since 2016, she has been a part-time assistant, and since 2018 – a full-time assistant at the Department of Pediatrics following a competitive selection. She has also practiced at MC Za Deteto. Currently, she is part of the specialist team at the Diagnostic Center “Heart.”
