Assoc. Prof. Petyo Hadzhiyski, MD
Assoc. Prof. Petyo Hadzhiyski, MD is a specialist in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology in Sofia with over 28 years of experience. He diagnoses and treats diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder and pancreas in childhood. Assoc. Prof. Hadzhiyski performs abdominal ultrasound, upper and lower endoscopy (fibrogastroscopy and fibrocolonoscopy) and liver biopsy.
Education
Assoc. Prof. Hadzhiyski graduated from the Medical University of Plovdiv in 1993. In 2003, he specialized in Pediatric Diseases, and in 2011, he specialized in Pediatric Gastroenterology. In 2019, he defended his doctoral degree on the topic: Characteristics of H. pylori infection in childhood in our country.

Biography
In his career development, Assoc. Prof. Hadzhiyski successively passed through resident, assistant, chief assistant, and since July 2023 he has been elected as a full associate professor at the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of Sofia with a permanent position at SBALDB Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev in the Clinic of Pediatric Gastroenterology. After graduating, he worked as a pediatrician in Plovdiv until 2013. He worked at the MC Children’s Health – Ami Bue branch in Sofia. From 2014 to the present, he has been part of the team of specialists at SBALDB Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev and MC Children’s Diseases Sofia, and currently at the Diagnostic center “Heart”.
